Great British Bake Off's Selasi tells Premier his top tip

by Aaron James

The baker, who also enjoys riding motorbikes, is now into round three of the competition.

He wowed judges last week with a gingerbread church complete with edible stain glass windows.

Speaking on Premier's Inspirational Breakfast, Selasi said his secret was to "stay calm and collected, and bake with the heart."

He went on: "I was raised in the Catholic Church. I grew up going to church every Sunday with my mum and dad and siblings. It's massive in Ghana, to be honest with you.

"I thought it was time to feature that in the [Great British Bake Off] tent."

Selasi applied to be Great British Bake Off on previous occasions but was unsuccessful.

Speaking about how it felt when he was finally accepted, he told us: "It was exciting because it was basically time to prove myself.

"I bake a lot at work and for charity, and everyone kept saying 'Oh, he's really good,' but you can never tell, right?"
