God 'raised up Trump' to be president, says Franklin Graham at inauguration

by Premier Journalist

Rev Franklin Graham delivered an impassioned address at the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump.

Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at an indoor ceremony at the United States Capitol Rotunda on Monday.

"Mr President, over the last four years I'm sure there were times when you thought it was pretty dark," Rev Graham said.

"But look at what God has done. We praise him and give him glory."

Graham went on:

"Our father, today, as President Donald J Trump takes the author of office once again, we come to say thank you O Lord our God.

"Father when Donald Trump's enemies thought he was down and out you and you alone saved his life in raised him up with strength and Power by your mighty hand.

"We pray for President Trump, that you will watch over, protect, guide and protect him - give him wisdom from your throne on high.

"We ask that you would bless him, and bless our nation through him."

Rev Graham thanked God for Vice President JD Vance and asked that he stand beside President Trump and "hold up his arms like Aaron held up the arms of Moses in the midst of battle".

In his inaugural address, Trump referenced the attempt against his life last year and declared that he was "saved by God to make America great again".
