Gloucester Cathedral installs temporary skate park

It's installed a temporary skate park during the Easter holidays as a way to attract young people.

The building will host dedicated scoot and skate sessions for different age groups, catering for young children to young adults and will culminate in a competition and presentation.

The park itself is run by Christian Skaters, who run events at festivals across the country and recently held a similar event at Malmesbury Abbey.

Speaking about the change to Cathedral's weekly activities, Canon Andrew Braddock said: "Cathedral skate is a brilliant opportunity for us to welcome children, families and young people into the cathedral for what will be an amazing and memorable event."
