Former CEO of 24-7 Prayer International resigns after fresh allegations

by Alex Collett

The Former CEO of the global prayer movement 24-7 Prayer International, Mike Andrea, has officially resigned after being accused with more offences.

After the 24-7 board read a full investigation prepared by Loch Associates primarily for the trustees of Global Generation Church (where he had also previously worked) and received several new complaints relating specifically to Mike Andrea’s leadership style and conduct within the 24-7 organisation, they made a call with Mr Andrea.

Within this call Mr Andrea then offered his resignation, which the board accepted on April 14 2022.

In a statement the board said: “As a Christian charity we believe in the possibility of redemption, restoration and healing for all parties involved.

“Maintaining close dialogue with the congregation of Global Generation Church we will together seek to support all those impacted as best we can.

“Please pray for peace and recovery for all who have been deeply hurt."

The resignation comes after he was removed as CEO earlier this year.

Mr Andrea was first accused by a former employee of Global Generation Church in Thanet, back in November last year online.

Steph Dickinson, made a list of accusations against him, including causing psychological, sexual, spiritual and financial abuse.

The former employee says the abuse took place between 2004 and 2010 but is only now in position where she is able to tell her story which she says left her feeling suicidal.

"For a long time, almost eleven years, I wanted to ‘cut and run’ from the experiences I had, and thought that it was possible to simply move on," she said.

"Much therapy, and introspection, has made me realise that this position is no longer tenable for me and for my health."

In a statement, Global Generation Church shared that Mike Andrea and his wife Stella had already resigned in late February and early March.

They also said that while the report could not be made public due to "the nature and sensitivity of the information", at least 36 people had contacted investigators to raise concerns about some of their experiences at the church which had "left them hurt and in pain."

Premier has previously reached out to Mr Andrea for a response.
