A former Assemblies of God minister is set to take over the reins of the Evangelical Alliance in Wales.

Tim Rowlands has served as a senior pastor- alongside his wife Emily - across the Festival Church group for the past 12 years.

The cluster of churches – which sit under the Evangelical Alliance and Assembles of God umbrella – are based across mid and north Wales, Chester and Derby.

Tim Rowlands is an experienced church leader and has been involved in local and national Welsh politics for some years.

The Evangelical Alliance group is involved in a number of national and global campaigns.

Tim said: “I am excited to be joining the talented team at the Evangelical Alliance. I’ve always been inspired by the values and culture of the team, especially their bravery and kindness, and I share their commitment of making the good news of Jesus known.

“I think this is a significant time for the church in Wales – it’s a moment to grow deeper in confidence, and to fully embrace the opportunities in front of us. I’m looking forward to seeing more of what God can do with and through us as we step up and say yes to Him.”

Gavin Calver, CEO of the Evangelical Alliance, commended the appointment saying: “I’m delighted that Tim is joining us to serve and support the church in Wales.

“He is an experienced church leader who knows first-hand how the church can engage politically and culturally in Wales.

“I am looking forward to serving with him and seeing God move powerfully across the nation of Wales.”
