Evangelical Alliance hit by 'significant' cyber-attack

by Tola Mbakwe

The Evangelical Alliance has launched a forensic investigation after falling victim to a significant cyber-attack.

In an email to its members, CEO of the organisation Gavin Calver, said their database has been compromised, but he's not yet aware if the attempt to steal their data has been successful.

"As soon as we discovered this incident, we immediately took our systems offline," he wrote.

"In addition, we launched a forensic investigation led by external experts to identify exactly the extent of the breach and whether your information is involved.
"We will be back in touch to update you with our investigations in two weeks' time."

Calver advised members to take steps to prevent themselves from fraud, including being wary of emails and anyone asking for personal information.
