Dominican actress clashes with security guard over 'Jesus dress'

by Premier Journalist

Dominican actress Massiel Taveras has hit out at a security guard at the Cannes Film Festival for clashing with her over a dress with a picture of Jesus on it.

The 39- year-old said 'She should go to church!' or 'read the Bible' after the official stopped her from unfurling a long train which bore the picture of Jesus with a crown of thorns on his head.

Taveras told celebrity news site TMZ  she believed the woman was deliberately trying to stop her showing the cameras the image of Christ.

The unknown security has been the focus of a lot of attention following the film festival last month.

Video of the guard actively moving singer and christian Kelly Rowland on also appeared online with Rowland clearly agitated with how she was being treated.

Some have criticised the actress - who was attending the premiere of the French film The Count Of Monte Cristo for shoving the usher and security colleagues told the woman was just doing her job.

But the actress who was crowned Miss Dominican Republic in 2007 said she just wanted to take one photo in order to give credit to her dress designer.

She went on to say that after she climbed the famous Cannes staircase she was told she couldn't go inside by a male usher.

"I said "Why? This is Jesus Christ's face... I have an invitation for one year in advance." Then adding: "It really felt weird. I've never had that situation before. And I think people like the fact that I did that because it shows there's boundaries in life. And, as Kelly did, I stood my ground. We did the same."

Taveras Instagram status now states: 'JESUS WON'.
