Four Marks, near Winchester, hit the headlines after being accused of being "greedy" after introducing the £2 fee to watch the evening performance of A Little Bird Told Me and Hey Ewe.
Speaking to the Sun, Mum of two Michelle Icough said: "The parents I've spoken to aren't happy.
"The school is quite a wealthy one. It's just greedy."
In a response to Premier, Mrs P Hughes, Chair of Governors at Four Marks Primary School said: "In these difficult financial times, many schools, like other public services, are struggling to meet rising costs from a static budget and increasing external pressures on those funds. It is not uncommon for schools to issue tickets and charge (some substantially) for school performances.
"We are fortunate that we have not had to do this before but absorbing the costs for activities beyond those required of us in our statutory duty is becoming increasingly difficult. In order to assist with the cost of putting on productions such as this nativity, the Governors have asked parents to consider making a suggested voluntary donation of £2.00.
"We would not want any parent to struggle to pay to see their child in a performance and consequently this is why the donation is voluntary.
Money raised will cover copyright, costumes and scenery.
