Churches congratulate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on engagement

by Anna Rees Green

Churches across the US have been sending engagement well wishes to pop sensation Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The couple shared their garden proposal on Instagram, with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married", followed by a dynamite emoji in reference to their couple nickname ‘TNT’.

Asbury United Methodist Church in Kansas City, which has been known for its humorous welcome boards, displayed the message: “We do weddings! Congrats Travis & Taylor.”

Cambellsburg United Methodist Church also joked: "What's even bigger news than Taylor Swift getting engaged??? This Sunday is Service Sunday!! You may not get invited to Taylor and Travis' wedding, but you are warmly welcomed to our Sunday Family gathering!"

Travis' father, Ed Kelce, told WEWS: "They’re two people obviously very much in love."

“They were about to go out to dinner and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there and that’s when he asked her and it was beautiful.”

The couple has yet to publicly confirm any wedding plans, such as whether they intend to have a church ceremony.
