A church in Scotland has banned a woman from taking communion after claims she had an affair with a married minister who committed suicide earlier this year.
According to The Daily Mail, the Rev Iain D Campbell's widow says her husband had affairs with seven women and wants them all banned from The Free Church of Scotland in the Isle of Lewis.
Reverend Campbell hanged himself in a hospital in January while waiting to be treated for an overdose.
Minister Rev James Maciver, who conducted Mr Campbell's funeral, told the Telegraph: "The Western Isles Presbytery is taking these allegations very seriously and is acting on them in accordance with the stated practice of the Free Church of Scotland."
The Daily Mail reports four women are denying the accusations of infidelity and one did admit a relationship with the late church leader.
Reverend Maciver said the church will release a statement next week once the investigation is complete.
