Planned measures include orders to ban extremist organisations and restrict people who try to radicalise youngsters.
The Prime Minister's been discussing the issue at the first meeting of the National Security Council since he won the General Election.
Bishop Simon Iheanacho, Chair of the group Minority Ethnic Christian Affairs thinks it's vital action is taken now before it's too late.
Speaking on Premier's News Hour, he said: "You will not know who you are living close to or [what] the person you are on the round with is thinking.
"If we don't deal with it now - it will turn up and become more explosive as it grows.
"Looking at the news you hear of young children living here who go to Syria. It's painful to me as a member of this community living here and to the parents and then to the nation.
"If they are willing to go that far, consider what they would do here if you allow them."
The measures will be outlined in the Queen's Speech in two weeks' time and it's reported it will make it much harder for people to promote dangerous extremist views.
However there will likely be some opposition when MPs return to Parliament as some say the plans could infringe people's right to free speech.
