A teary-eyed Katie Hopkins has criticised the Churches Conservation Trust for cancelling a show she was due to hold at St Nicholas’ Chapel in King's Lynn.

The live event is believed to have sold 500 tickets at £28.05 each for her show 'TRUE’.

St Nicholas’ Chapel is now a space for cultural events. In 1992, it went into the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, but reopened as a venue in 2015 after a grant from the CCT.

Hopkins, who is known for her controversial social and political views, claimed on X: “The Church has deep pockets and is not on side”.

Despite Hopkin's reference to 'the Church', the CCT is priamrily concerend with preserving and revamping Church buildings, and is distinct from the Church of England.

In her video explaining the tour cancellation, Hopkins expressed disappointment: “There is this small part in your soul that hopes about a church… I know people out there who have faith. I have belief that my path is set. And now I have to believe that the church represented here has nothing to do with my kind of faith.”

“St Nicholas’ Church has hosted Extinction Rebellion and will host Drag: It’s A Sin, Glitter & Gore in Oct,” she posted.

King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Pride is set to host the ‘It’s A Sin: Glitter & Gore’ event at St Nicholas’ Chapel on Saturday, October 26. It will be an “80’s themed” Halloween drag show.
