Cambridge Christian theologian Dr James Orr has been appointed as a senior adviser to Nigel Farage and Reform UK.
Orr told The Telegraph that “the politics of national self-interest” should replace traditional Left vs Right thinking, adding the party needs “posh as well as bosh” to unite the country.
Part of his new role will involve building a network of potential defectors and vetting new candidates.
Reform currently has five MPs, but polling suggests the party could make major gains at the next election.
Farage has previously clashed with senior Anglican leaders over immigration, while Reform continues to attract new high-profile supporters within conservative circles.
