An online Christian giving charity has reached a significant milestone, providing assistance to more than 50,000 people in the UK.

Acts 435, which has been running for 14 years, operates by resourcing a network of local churches and charities which post requests for help for those in their communities on the organisation’s website.

Individual donors can then visit the website and crowdfund for these specific needs, with 100 per cent of their financial gift goes toward meeting the desperate needs of recipients.The charity focuses on fulfilling one-off specific needs, such as white goods, school uniforms, or travel costs for those facing a crisis or hardship.

Acts 435 said that in recent months, it has seen an outpouring of generosity from its donors. In February alone, donors contributed £91,160.

One partner church in Blackpool requested assistance from Acts 435 for a new mattress for someone who was suffering from back pain due to his old mattress.

The recipient told Acts 435: "I was so grateful that through my local church I could receive this kind gift...I had taken to sleeping in my chair because of the pain of lying on the bed. This gift has been overwhelming."

Executive director of Acts 435, Jenny Herrera said: "At this time of abundance we are experiencing as a charity, we would like to help many more people in need, and hope that more churches and local charities will partner with us."

The charity has encouraged churches and local charities witnessing need in their communities to utilise its free resource.
