Around 550 people are reported to have been baptised in the sea at Bridlington Beach in East Yorkshire, in what organisers have described as an extraordinary public celebration of Christian faith.
Large crowds gathered at Bridlington Beach on 10 October to witness the baptisms. Participants queued to enter the water during the evangelistic event involving Christian social media influencer Merlin Kraft, also known as BibleLad UK.
Video footage shared on YouTube shows crowds gathered on the beach, with those taking part entering the North Sea to be baptised.
Speaking in the video, Merlin was asked whether the event could be the UK's biggest mass baptism.
He replied: "I think this is going to be the UK's biggest baptism. At least the biggest one we've seen in recent years. Praise God. They have turned up today."
A Facebook post celebrating the event described an overwhelming response from those attending, with large crowds watching from above the beach.
The event comes after a previous mass bapstim organised by Kraft. Last month, 170 we baptised in the sea at Bigbury-on-Sea in Devon, with many more looking on.
He said he organised the event after receiving many requests from people across Britain wanting to take part.
