Christian former abuse victim backs NSPCC campaign

A Christian organisation which supports victims of abuse has given its backing to an NSPCC television campaign. In it, people are being urged to report abuse sooner and more swiftly.

Figures released today show fewer than one in five would report any suspicions straight away. As a child, Yvonne Ellis was abused by her father and has since set up Daughter Arise to help other women. 

She told Premier's Victoria Laurence on the News Hour that tough punishment is the way to deal with the situation:
