Catholic school not teaching children about "different forms" of relationships

by Hannah Tooley

The Tablet reported that school was told it requires "improvement".

It listed a number of reasons that the school did not receive a 'good' rating. The report stated that: "Few pupils have a good enough understanding of democracy, how the law works, and what this means for them now and in the future.

"Many are not aware of the different forms that families and adult relationships can take."

However the report stresses that the school has improved from its "inadequate" rating, given in 2013.

Jon Reynard, the new stand-in head teacher says he has been delighted with the schools progress over the past 15 months.

He told the local paper, The Argus, that: "I think that is more like a political agenda of Ofsted where they look at our British values, and by that they mean democracy and the rule of law."

It was also reported that he will not be continuing his role at the school because he is not a member of the Catholic faith.
