Cathedral cat strikes again

by Hannah Tooley

There have been three incidents to date where the tomcat has been accused of attacking dogs in Somerset.

Louis the 17-year-old cat lives in Wells Cathedral and has been described by Cathedral staff as caught up in a case of mistaken identity. They say he has not misbehaved in the past and there are similar looking cats that roam the area.

However dog-owners are not convinced. Mandie Stone-Outten, a Wells local, described how Louis 'turned into a cat about four times the size and he was waving his arms around.'

Another woman, Zoe Heath said her brother's dog was attacked by a ginger cat and 'almost lost an eye'.

Louis has become so famous he even has a book about himself 'Louis the Cathedral Cat' and a range of merchandise. The search is ongoing for the ginger cat that attacks dogs.
