Canterbury choristers prepare for 17th performance in 9 days

Last rehearsals are taking place for the Christmas Day service in between a packed period of events during the festive season.

They will sing at 17 services and concerts in total but will enjoy three Christmas dinners during the nine days.

Master of the choristers and cathedral organist Dr David Flood said: "It is a very busy time for the choir but it is a very special time of year and the boys love it.

"They manage to enjoy three Christmas dinners during the nine days, not including the one they will have at home once they have finished on Christmas Day, and they do not miss out on opening their stockings and presents together on Christmas morning."

The choir has also recorded an 18-track CD called Christmas Night that has become a fast-seller in the cathedral shop.

For a monthly gift of $11 or more we’d also be able to send you a free copy of the brand new Premier Bible, a wonderful Anglicised version of the NLT packed with exclusive bonus content, reading plan and resources to help you get the most out of scripture.
