Bishop burgled as he leads mother’s funeral

by Heather Preston

A bishop in Birmingham had his home broken into while he was officiating the funeral for his late mother.

Bishop Desmond Jaddoo MBE was informed of the burglary while conducting the funeral service for his mother, Zoe Jaddoo, at First Born Church in Lozells on the morning of 27th September.

After the burial ceremony, Jaddoo returned to his home to discover that several bags and trainers had been stolen. According to local reports, the thieves targeted his property during one of his most vulnerable moments.

According to Birmingham Live, Jaddoo expressed his frustration, saying: “I want to say to the people who did this—really? Is this how low you would stoop?”

Jaddoo also posted doorbell footage on social media platform X, showing two males wearing hoodies leaving his home, one of them carrying a large box. He urged the burglars to “do the right thing".

Local police are searching for a 23-year-old male in connection with this incident and several other burglaries across the city.
