Big Brother star Glyn Wise has been accepted to train for ordained ministry after swapping reality TV for life as a priest.

The 34-year-old, who appeared on the television show as a teenager, compared his life to Vicar of Dibley and Father Ted - two famous comedy shows about members of church clergy.

Originally from Wales, Wise has been working as a Pastoral Assistant in Camden, London.

Now, he's getting ready for the next step in his faith journey, leaving his post at St Michaels into order to train under the Church in Wales.

Wise took to Instagram to share the news, accompanied by a picture of him at the pulpit.

The caption read: "I've done it! I've been accepted to train for ordained ministry with the @churchinwales. I'd like to thank the @churchofengland for all its support in Camden - St Michaels!

"I've really enjoyed giving sermons and bringing the good word to people. In two years' time I'll Father Glyn - my life will be like a sketch show out of #VicarofDibley or #FatherTed but I'm looking forward to it! So happy!"

The news was met with congratulations from a number of other well-known figures.

Fellow Big Brother contestant Pete Bennett responded: "Can I come to confession please, Father?"

Paul Burrell, former butler to Princess Diana, replied to the post saying "congratulations!", to which Wise responded saying: "Thank you Paul, looking forward to seeing you in church x"
