Dr Christopher West, one of the world's leading authority on Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body, is in the UK for the 'Our Bodies Proclaim The Gospel' conference.
Those gathered in Westminster for the event will discuss how the Church should respond to a society which is grappling with issues of sexuality and gender identity.
Speaking to Premier ahead of the event, Dr West said: "There will be no revival of the Church in the world without the renewal of Marriage and family life.
"And there will be no renewal of Marriage and family life unless we can demonstrate to the modern world that the Biblical vision of sexuality is not the prudish list of prohibitions that it has so often assumed to be, but rather it is a liberating invitation to respond to the deepest desires of our hearts.
"To direct those desires according to God's design so that we can reach our destiny, which is eternal ecstasy and bliss."
Mike Davidson from the Core-Issues Trust, a charity which is involved in helping those with unwanted same attraction, is also taking part.
"What we are seeking to do is recongise perhaps there is an unhealthy trend, an excessive piatism today, that absolves the Church from looking at very serious issues that have crept into the society," he said.
The aim of the discussions is to encourage church leaders to speak openly about sexuality in modern Britain.
However Mike Davidson warned that the Church must also be cautious: "To be able to keep the doors of communication open with people who don't share our views, we may be in danger of inviting or being passive in terms of the very strident ideologies that are being imposed on us."
"The conference is about reminding us that we are created both body and spirit.
