Artemis II pilot Victor Glover has shared the gospel to crowds gathered to welcome him home. 

Cheering members of the community welcomed the NASA astronaut back to League City, Texas. He was waving from the passenger seat window of a van as he was driven home on Monday.

Stepping out onto his driveway, Glover shared Jesus’ words from Matthew 22:34-40 with the crowd. 

“Some of us have never met before and you know whose fault that is? Ours. So, let’s choose to do this. Let’s be this, more. Let’s be neighbors,” he said, gesturing to everyone assembled together. 

“I don’t know if you heard me say it, but God told us to love him with all that we are and love our neighbors as ourselves,” Glover added. 

Shouts of “Amen” and cheers came from the crowd, in footage shared on social media. 

Glover has been outspoken about his Christian faith, throughout the journey to travel further than any human before. Over Easter, he spoke of seeing the “beauty of creation” and “all the amazing things that were done for us”, revealed in the Bible. 

After the arrival, Glover posted a picture of him with family on social media. “Home, again! Mission complete. I hope we glorified God, humanity, our families and our terrific teams”, Glover shared on X, “Time to share the good news!”
