The Archbishop of Canterbury has announced he'll quit his membership at a club in London after it decided not to allow women.
Justin Welby is reported to have used the Travellers Club in Pall Mall whilst he was Bishop of Durham and Dean of Liverpool.
The exclusive club voted earlier this year to continue blocking women membership.
A Lambeth Palace spokeswomen confirmed to the Independent Archbishop Justin now intended to resign.
She said: "He can't remember the vote, which is usually done via correspondence, but would have voted for the inclusion of women."
Many foreign ambassadors and high commissioners are members of the organisation which boasts the Duke of Edinburgh as its patron.
The move comes just days after the Church of England voted to allow women bishops in a move Archbishop Justin said he was 'delighted' about.
