During his pilgrimage around the North East Dr John Sentamu will be spending time in a nursery.
Last winter he set out on a six-month 'Pilgrimage of Prayer, Witness & Blessing'.
Prayer for the Pilgrimage:
God of Our Pilgrimage,
Thank You for Your Friendship.
Be the Fire Leading Us.
Be the Star Guiding Us.
Be the Good Shepherd Calling Us
The archbishop is now returning to complete his Pilgrimage journey through the Selby Deanery.
Archbishop Sentamu said: "It has been a great joy and privilege to meet and to pray with so many people as part of my Pilgrimage of Prayer, Witness and Blessing across the Diocese of York.
"I made a promise to pupils at Saxton primary that I would return before the end of the school term to pray, to witness and to bless.
"Look out - there's an Archbishop about!"
On Monday morning he led prayers at Saxton Church with Saxton primary school pupils and then attended Barkston Ash R.C. Primary School for morning assembly.
He will later visit Peter Pan Nursery to celebrate with staff, parents and children at their annual teddy bear's leaver's picnic.
His day will conclude with a visit to Sherburn High School where he will speak with year 9 and 10 students.
Melanie Godridge is the Nursery Manager at Peter Pan Nursery.
She said: "We are a pre-school nursery for children and families with additional needs.
"All of our children are referred to us by either a healthcare professional or early years' worker to ensure that we are helping the people who need us the most, be it for respite care, disability, illness or learning difficulties.
"We are all extremely excited about Archbishop Sentamu coming to visit our special nursery.
"We look forward to meeting him and sharing our end of year leaver's teddy bears' picnic with him, where we'll be saying goodbye to our children who are moving on to school."
