Most Revd Leo Cushley will take part in a procession in the Fife town of St Andrews, which is named after the saint.
It will be headed by a new university mace that has been gifted by the Catholic Church to St Andrews University.
The mace will carry an inscription indicating that it was presented in the Pontificate of Pope Francis, who also sent a greeting to the University at the culmination of its 600th celebrations.
It said: "His Holiness invokes upon all the staff and students of the University, past and present, the abundant blessings of Almighty God, as a pledge of heavenly peace and joy".
St Andrew is also the patron saint of Romania, Greece and Russia and along with Scotland they are in a small group of countries to have one of Christ's disciples as their patron saint.
