A priest in Northern Ireland says he’s “saddened and angry” after the internal organs of several animals were dumped outside the entrance to his church car park.

Fr Cathal Devaney from St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Caledon, County Tyrone said it was a “criminal act, perhaps even a hate-filled act,” and added that he was praying for the perpetrator because “they are in a bad place…they need serious help, possibly even for them to be caught and brought to justice.”

Colm Gildernew, who is the Sinn Féin Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for South Tyrone, said: “There is absolutely no place in our society for this behaviour. Whoever is behind this sickening act must be brought to justice.”

Expressing his support for Fr Devaney, Mr Gildernew condemned the “abhorrent and criminal act on our parish and church-goers” in the “strongest possible terms”.

Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI) is currently investigating the incident, which is believed to have occurred between 11:00pm on 5th October and 2:00pm on 6th October..
