A Georgia megachurch baptized 400 people across a weekend of services at its three campuses
Pastor Jason Britt of Bethlehem Church felt prompted to hold the mass baptism after a sermon series on the Holy Spirit.
The three campuses held the baptisms on Mar. 1, with a social media post stating they were “experiencing a move of God at Bethlehem Church that can only be explained by the Holy Spirit stirring within his people."
“Seeds had been planted for years, and that weekend was a harvest," a church spokesperson told The Christian Post. “What we saw was a culmination of many different points of connection: small groups, lunches and coffees, and meetings with staff members and other believers.”
Pastor Britt was due to preach on Acts 2, about how the Holy Spirit came upon the early church on the day of Pentecost, focusing on the words “repent and be baptised”. He said “a Spirit-filled church is full of Spirit-sensitive people, and Spirit-sensitive people obey.”
The church said it is supporting those baptised through weekly follow-up groups, one-to-one meetings with staff, and letters of encouragement from small groups.
