World marks 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King 'dream' speech

Events will take place in the US and the UK later to mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech. More than 250-thousand people gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC in 1963 Civil rights campaigner Revd Jesse Jackson was among them - and says it was a day he won't forget: "There was a great deal of fear and anxiety in the country and public humiliation, and that speech said the humiliation and indignities had to end.  "So the dream of '63 was really to end the indignities."
