Woman loses appeal, jailed over road rage at Christian presenter Jeremy Vine

The confrontation, which happened last summer was captured on the BBC presenter's helmet camera and was viewed more than a million times online.

Shanique Syrena Pearson was given a nine month sentence after losing her appeal yesterday after originally being convicted in February - she was told that she would spend at least half of that in jail.

During the trial, Vine gave evidence, saying he "felt threatened" during the encounter.

At sentencing Judge Phillip Matthews told the 22 year old from Vauxhall in South London: "This was a bad case of loss of control by you, letting your anger take over''.

Listening to the video footage, Pearson can be heard swearing at Vine as he was riding down the centre of a narrow street to avoid car doors.

Pearson was convicted of driving an unlicensed vehicle, driving without reasonable consideration for other road users and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
