The Christian worship artist Philippa Hanna has announced she is having a baby in January 2021. 

She made the news public on social media on Sunday, telling fans she is expecting a girl with her husband Joel Cana, who is a drummer.

The singer, 36, has also posted a youtube video of footage from her pregnancy journey so far, including the moment she told Joel and then their parents. 

Hanna wrote on Facebook: "So beyond thrilled to be able to share this with you...It hasn't been easy expecting our first baby in lockdown. The ban on gatherings meant a lot of uncertainty for us, work-wise to begin with. Then Joel wasn't able to attend the first 2 scans which was really hard and we couldn't hug our family when we told them the news! But this little girl is a total gift from God, a little life springing forth from the ashes of a tough couple of years. 

"We are already seeing God's favour in her life, in spite of adversity. Against the odds! Cant wait to share more with you as the weeks go by. Please pray for her to be healthy and full of joy - my main prayer for her. Big love to my incredible husband @joelcanadrums who I know was born to be a daddy. You're the best Joel!"

Her partner Joel wrote: "Philippa Hanna is going to be a superb mother to our child. Here's to the next chapter in our lives.
