The worship leader and media personality Vicky Beeching has been targeted by Westboro Baptist Church as she gave a speech to LGBT Christians.
Ms Beeching, who came out as gay last year, was attending the Gay Christian Network conference in Portland, Oregan.
On her Instagram account she said: "Westboro Baptist picketed with signs right before I spoke... Made sure I told them that I had nothing but love & grace towards them."
She then posed for pictures alongside the banners the group were holding up.
Westboro Baptist Church is known for its aggressive and offensive campaigning of gay people in America.
The group also often picket the funeral of soldiers.
