Revd Felicity Scroggie, from St Mary's Church in Kidlington, was speaking after a recent influx of East Asian tourists who have randomly been enjoying the sights.
Residents say there is no obvious reason why so many tourists are coming to Kidlington.
It's thought the village's links to the Harry Potter franchise and Inspector Morse as well as its proximity to Oxford may be behind the visits, however because the tourists don't speak English no one's been able to find out why they're there.
Kidlington residents have been generally welcoming to the tourists although some have been unhappy when they've entered their gardens.
Revd Felicity told Premier's News Hour: "We're always happy to welcome visitors to Kidlington because we're a hospitable lot, but we have been rather deluged in the last three weeks or so with coachloads of Chinese tourists.
"Nobody seems annoyed; we're just completely bemused as to why they're here.
"They come right up the garden paths. They've been up my drive and they're all taking selfies and posing outside your house. They're interested in the hanging baskets, touching them."
