A US pastor who has served churches in California has been arrested on multiple child sexual assault charges, with investigators saying there may be other alleged victims.
Lino Hernandez, 41, was arrested on Wednesday after Riverside County Sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at his home in Blythe, according to police.
The investigation began in June following an allegation that a minor had been sexually assaulted. Detectives subsequently identified Hernandez as a suspect.
Hernandez has served as a pastor at churches in Blythe and Indio, although authorities have not identified the congregations involved.
Police have also not said whether the alleged offences have any connection to Hernandez's work as a pastor.
He was arrested without incident and booked on multiple sexual assault charges. Hernandez remained in custody ahead of a scheduled court appearance on Friday.
Investigators said the case remains ongoing and believe there may be additional alleged victims.
Authorities are appealing for anyone with information relating to the investigation to come forward.
