According to West Midlands Police, Joseph Johnson, 25, of no fixed address, and Michael Bullingham, 33, from Banner Lane, Coventry, have been charged with murder and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Liam McGerrigan was found shortly after 10pm at the property in Holyhead Road.

The victim's family released a statement: "When did silence become so painful?

"Our loss of such a kind, warm, sensitive soul, taken from us in such a senseless manner, has devastated us all.

"Loving parents Paul and Linda, devoted stepmom Sue, distraught siblings and soulmates Kieran and Sinead, whose worlds have changed forever."
