President Donald Trump is suggesting that he may have misstated his previous remarks about making it into heaven.

In October, Trump said on board Air Force One, “I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven. I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound.”

However, addressing the National Prayer Breakfast, he told the crowd that he was just having fun with his statement and blamed the media for taking his words out of context.

“You can’t be sarcastic with them because they write your words,” Trump told the Prayer Breakfast, in reference to the media.

He continued by saying that the "good things" he’s doing for religion should qualify him to enter eternity.

“Religions back now hotter than ever before,” said Trump. “I really think I probably should make it. I mean, I’m not a perfect candidate, but I did a hell of a lot of good for perfect people.”

While it’s common for U.S. presidents to attend the annual event in the nation’s capital, which usually takes place on the first Thursday of February, it’s uncommon for the president to platform their agenda.

Trump made sure to criticize his opponents and politicians on the other side of the aisle during his remarks.

“I don’t know how a person of faith can vote for a Democrat. I really don’t,” the President said. “And I know we have some here today. I don’t know why they’re here because they certainly don’t give us their vote.”
