Tony Campolo: I refuse to call myself an Evangelical anymore

In September internationally-renowned pastor Tony Campolo exclusively told Premier he does not want to be known as an Evangelical Christian anymore.

Tony Campolo, who was the former spiritual advisor to US President Bill Clinton, said that the title now has too many negative connotations - particularly among non-Christians.

He has now partnered with other prominent Christians to start the Red Letter Christians movement. The term refers to certain Bibles which put all of Christ's words in red, to symbolise their importance.

Pastor leading fight against Zimbabwe's Mugabe refused entry to the UK

Another Premier exclusive was the most read story in October.

The Zimbabwean pastor who is leading protests against the brutal dictatorship of Robert Mugabe was refused entry to the UK.

Pastor Evan Mawarire was told by immigration officials his visa had been refused just hours before he was due to board a flight to London.

He's been instrumental in the 'This Flag' campaign - an uprising against the leadership of Mugabe.

Armed police help Christian family flee Bradford home

In November a Christian family was forced to flee their Bradford home under armed police guard amid increasing persecution for their faith.

Nissar Hussain converted from Islam to Christianity and has been subjected to attacks and hate crimes since.

Last year the father of six, was hit 13 times with a pickaxe handle and punched and kicked - his kneecap and hand were broken (pictured above).

Phillip Schofield grills Christian nurse for offering to pray with patients

This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby grilling a Christian nurse who was sacked for offering to pray for patients was top story in December.

On live TV the pair quizzed Sarah Kuteh after she was dismissed from her job at Darent Valley hospital in Dartford for breaching hospital guidelines about religious discussion.

She is now being supported by the Christian Legal Centre as she takes the hospital to an employment tribunal.
