A prenuptial agreement or prenup is a contract two people enter into before marriage or civil union, that agrees terms upon the breakdown of that relationship. The study, which looked at more than 3000 Britons, showed that 62% of young people said they would not be offended if asked to sign one.
Harry Benson from the Marriage Foundation thinks the stats aren't a true reflection of society.
Speaking on Premier's News Hour, he said: "I suspect very few people will be happy to have somebody ask the question 'darling, would you marry me?' and then say well would you sign this piece of paper that says I get to keep all my toys that I brought into the marriage.
"It's not much of a commitment, it's not very romantic, and frankly it's not very realistic."
Jane Oakes, a family law practioner told Premier's News Hour for many, a prenup makes sense.
She said:"Very often the only items included in a prenup and gifts perhaps from family, inheritances and businesses.
"It's very rare it ever talking about the future, when they're together and are putting assets in together to the marriage."
