Three thousand Christians completed the questionnaire which found more than four in every 10 church-going single people feel their churches don't know what to do with them.
They were asked their opinions ahead of the launch of the new website www.singlechristians.co.uk which is being launched this weekend at Greenbelt festival.
David Pullinger analysed the findings and is calling on church leaders to take up the challenge of supporting single Christians.
He said: "By 2030 it is estimated that single adult households will outnumber those with two adults or more.
"We need to decide how the Christian community responds to this changing demographic.
"Some churches are encouraging single people but there were some pretty shocking findings of exclusion and prejudice."
The survey also found:
- 54% haven't been on a date in the past year.
- 57% would only marry a Christian.
- 67% agree or strongly agree that marriage is the expected and accepted lifestyle in the church.
- 43% feel church leaders give very little guidance to single people.
- 77% think sex only belongs in marriage.
