In a public declaration of faith, Love Island’s Matilda Draper and her partner, The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star Roman Hackett, have turned to God, sharing the moment they were baptised together in a recent ceremony in Beckenham.

The celebrity couple, who have been dating since December last year, were surrounded by friends and family as they took this spiritual step, wearing matching “Born for More” t-shirts.

Draper, 25, opened up about the struggles that led her to faith: “A few years ago I had social anxiety which affected my relationships, my job, and the way I lived. I had to stop relying on myself and put my trust in Jesus and that’s when everything changed.”

She continued: “Because of Him I wake up each day feeling more positive, confident, grounded and more grateful.”

The emotional video shared on social media shows the couple embracing and celebrating their baptism, a moment Draper called “the most special day of my life.”

She added: “Getting baptised together felt like the most beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness… walking in faith and love with my best friend by my side.”

Quoting Philippians 4:7, she ended: “Glory to God always!”
