Police have launched an investigation after a girl was subjected to a sex attack on the grounds of a church in north Edinburgh. The 17-year-old was attacked outside South Leith Parish Church, on Constitution Street, at around 1am on Thursday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received the report of a serious sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl around 1am on Thursday, 22 October, 2020 in the grounds of a church in the Leith area of Edinburgh.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstance(s) surrounding the incident.”
Officers remain at the scene and the investigation continues. No arrests have been made at this time.
