A vicar in Stourbridge will undertake a ‘fire walk’ to raise money for new toilets at a church primary school.
Reverend Diane Farmer will walk on hot coals alongside parents and staff of St James's C of E Primary School.
The school’s Chair of Governors, Lee Salton-McLaughlin, told Stourbridge News he was “inspired” by the church and community “standing shoulder to shoulder… to ensure our children never go without."
“Each step I take will be for them – for their futures, their dreams, and the belief that when we walk together, there is no challenge too great.”
However, he criticised government funding for not providing money for a “basic” essential in the first place.
“It's deeply concerning that in 2025, a PTFA must still fundraise in the community for something as basic as school toilets – an essential that should be guaranteed for every child."
