South London pastor charged with sexual offences

Revd Howard Curtis, 71, was the senior pastor at Coulsdon Christian Fellowship. He left the church in July last year when police arrested him and began investigating claims of sexual and child cruelty allegations.

The Metropolitan Police gave Premier this statement: "Howard Curtis, age 71, has been charged with six counts of child cruelty, two counts of indecent assault, four counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual assault by penetration.

"The charges relate to offences against eight alleged victims between 1969 and 2012.

"He has been bailed to appear at Croydon Magistrates Court on 31 October."

Revd Curtis denies the charges.
