US Christian worship leader Sean Feucht has issued a warning about the growth of Islam in America after his "Jesus march" encountered a Muslim procession in Chicago.

Feucht shared footage from the city showing participants in the annual Arbaeen Procession, which was taking place around an hour before his Christian event was due to begin.

"This is insane. What I'm witnessing is crazy," Feucht said in a video posted on social media.

"I have been warning America what is coming."

He said his team had been unaware that the Muslim procession was taking place before arriving in downtown Chicago.

"An hour before we start, there's a massive Muslim march. We didn't even know this was happening guys...where they are declaring their allegiance to Allah. And that the entire city of Chicago will bow to Allah."

Feucht also claimed participants were "shouting anti Christian and anti Israel verses from the Quran".

"Have you woken up yet? Do you understand what is at stake in our nation?" he asked.

According to Baptist News Global, the procession was Chicago's annual Arbaeen Procession, which commemorates the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. The event is described as peaceful and non-political.

Feucht later posted footage of his own procession encountering the Muslim gathering, writing: "We did a Jesus march right through the Muslim march in Chicago!!! This is crazy!!!"

The worship leader used the encounter to accuse American churches of failing to recognise what he sees as the growing influence of Islam, describing the Church as "asleep" and "pathetic" and claiming similar Muslim marches were taking place "all over the country".

"How much more do you need? They are all in hijabs," he said. "They are all declaring their allegiance".

"God is on the wake up call right now. We showed up an hour before the Jesus march and this is what's taking place right here in downtown Chicago and so many Christians are asleep."

Feucht is known for organising large-scale public worship gatherings across the United States and has frequently spoken about political and cultural issues alongside his Christian ministry.
