The discovery was made during an episode of the Antiques Roadshow where experts valued the painting at over £400,000 pounds.
A priest from the Peak District has been told a painting he bought for 400 pounds is worth a thousand times what he paid for it.
Father Jamie McLeod was told on the Antiques Roadshow that the picture was a Anthony Van Dyck original. He's considering selling the piece to buy a new bell for the Abbey Church at Whaley Hall. Father Jamie described his reaction to the development Premier's Marcus Jones on the News Hour:
