Pastor to hold 3am services, despite noise complaints

by Hannah Tooley

The Camberwell church has already been fined £7,740.50 earlier in March due to a number of noise complaints.

Bishop Climate Irungu from Kingdom Church has said that services will not stop because that is when "demons are active."

According to The Standard the church leader is keen for loud music and preaching to continue on Saturday mornings due to his religious beliefs.

He said that they have tried to sound proof the church with a new floor and ceiling.

The night is "the time when we're dealing with spiritual things, when the spiritual world is busy," he said.

Bishop Irungu continued: "That's the time when the demons are more active, when people are asleep, that's when they will come."

The pastor heads up around 400 churches around the world.

He told the paper that hate male from people upset about the noise, "people like witches and Satanists" will be dealt with by God: "I'm hoping that people who have been mocking us, people speaking bad things - God is going to deal with them."

Southwark Council pursued the noise complaint and have tried to settle outside of court.

Despite the backlash Bishop Climate Irungu says that the early morning services will continue: "Our 3am service has helped hundreds of people whom have all shared their testimony about what God has done for them."
