A pastor in Essex has been fined £230 for keeping neighbours up with his services which went on until 4am.
Basildon Magistrates Court also fined Akinseye Lyun, from Celestial Church of Christ in Grays, a £23 victim surcharge while Thurrock Council was awarded full costs of £988.50.
The court heard Akinseye Lyun preached sermons and worshipped with his congregation into the night up to four times a week.
The services regularly featured loud chanting and the banging of drums.
One neighbour has described the noise levels from the meetings as "unbearably" noisy.
Thurrock Borough Council repeatedly warned Celestial Church of Christ but apparently these went ignored.
Akinseye Iyun admitted breaching a noise abatement notice.
