Oxford Circus workers and shoppers take refuge in churches after panic

Met office say it has found no traces of suspects, evidence or gun shots fired or causalities after incident at Oxford Circus. 

Gunshots were reported to have been fired on London's busiest shopping street and a packed Tube station, police said.

Police responded to a number of reports of shots being fired on Oxford Street and underground at Oxford Circus tube station and are responding as if the incident is terrorist related, Scotland Yard said.

Scotland Yard urged anyone on Oxford Street to "go into a building".

Premier's Cara Bentley spoke to Christopher Colven, Parish priest of St James' Roman Catholic Church and Dee Prior from St Margaret's, two minutes from Oxford Circus.
