New Wine United set to return after previous concerns

New Wine United is set to return for another year despite previous doubts about the future of the festival.

The Christian gathering has been running for three decades, but was initially supposed to close down from 2023 due to financial struggles.

Organisers had to cancel the event two years in a row due to the coronavirus, and the 2022 gathering saw 7,000 less people than previous years.

New Wine was in a deficit of £1m, forcing them to launch a fundraising initiative to secure the return of United.

For the first time, the 2022 event will take place at a new location – the Kent Event Centre.

Paul Harcourt, New Wine National Leader, said: “It’s been a very challenging season for New Wine but we are emerging energised, ready to gather again in February for our Leadership Conference and in the summer for United.

“God has placed a unique calling on New Wine and we are immensely grateful that he has been Jehovah Jireh – our Provider – in this season.

“The New Wine network and wider movement have been incredibly patient and generous and we are expectant for all the Lord has for us together in the coming months and years.”
