Senior archbishops, presiding bishops and moderators from each of the 41 Anglican provinces across the globe are gathering in London this week.
This is the first Anglican Primates in-person meeting since the pandemic hit in 2020.
It was originally planned to be held in Rome but travel restrictions in Italy meant that a significant number of Primates would not have been able to fully participate, therefore the meeting was moved to London.
During this weeks Primate's meeting, leaders will focus on prayer, relationship building and Bible studies on 1 Peter - the biblical focus for this year's Lambeth Conference - and hear reflections on chapters 15 and 16 of John's Gospel.
They will also hear from Oxford scholars and UK government ministers.
A discussion on a consultation from the Church of England, on extending the involvement of the wider Anglican Communion in the choice of future Archbishops of Canterbury, is also scheduled to take place.
The event happens just months before the Lambeth Conference.
The once-a-decade meeting is set to be a significant event in regards of the future of the Anglican communion, as it is hoped bishops on both sides of the debate over sexuality will come together to find a way forward on this issue.
